There is no official UX Glasgow event in August. However, there are a couple of UX-related events that may be of interest:
Electric Dreams – on sex robots and the failed promises of capitalism
will be discussing her first non-fiction book at Offline on Wednesday as part of the Govanhill International Festival. Here’s an excerpt:As beings trapped in our own subjective experiences of the world, we can never actually know that any other people have minds in the same way that we have minds, or indeed that these other people have minds at all. Logically speaking, all human-looking creatures around us at any time could be automatons. Their interior mental states are, necessarily, completely inaccessible to us. But it’s impossible to live under that logic (at least without being a total prick)
Eno by Gary Hustwit
, director of the brilliant documentaries Objectified, Helvetica, and Rams, has a new generative film about Brian Eno. Each of the four screenings at Glasgow Film Theatre is different.Have a great summer! See you in September.
Neil, Bobby, Kat, Stéphanie, and Vinishree
Thanks so much for sharing these awesome events! I usually have a hard time finding stuff I'm into, but your suggestions totally made my day. It's such a cool way to connect people beyond just design and realize we have more in common than we think. Great job! Hope to see you out and about at Glasgow venues :)
